Hope In High Water – Bored of Just Getting By
I’m delighted to feature ‘Hope in High Water’ again today, a UK based male/female duo who have been making huge waves in the Americana scene, especially since the release of their debut album ‘Never Settle’ back in May. ‘Bored of Just Getting By’ (above) features on the album and in the words of the duo is ‘about the importance of feeling like you’re living a full life with all the ups and downs that that brings. It is an acceptance that we all at times have a tendency to feel a boredom that comes from trundling along in mediocrity but the song stresses the importance of not accepting dissatisfaction because it’s safe and comfortable and pursuing something meaningful, whatever that may be.’
The song is one that grabs you from the start, Josh and Carly’s vocals harmonising fantastically and check out the excellent animated video too – this grabs you from the start and you won’t want it to end.
