Lizzy and Catherine have indeed been busy! Not only have they been working on a brand new album, they have just announced a run of sixteen UK tour dates this autumn! Their forthcoming album ‘Cartwheels’ is to be released on 9th September which I literally cannot wait for!

‘22 year old twin sisters Lizzy and Catherine, known together as Ward Thomas, announce a run of sixteen UK tour dates this autumn, including a show at London’s Bush Hall on Wednesday 19th October. The pair recently announced details of their forthcoming album ‘Cartwheels’ released on Sony Music/WTW Music on September 9th’.

I was lucky enough to see these lovely ladies live last year at The Thekla in Bristol as well as The Shires and what a night it was! I just have so much energy when they perform and their music is truly beautiful, as is there new song ‘Carry You Home’. You can listen to ‘Carry You Home’ on Spotify now!

Contemporary country music seems to have taken a different route again, bringing in atmospheric sounds as well as synths and deep drum fills. ‘Carry You Home’ I would say is very different from what the girls usually produce but it’s a great track! It manages to keep the essence of old style country but with a slight dance/Avicii type sound and vibe. Tie this in with great lyrics and lush new artwork, this is a sure fire hit for the girls!

‘Cartwheels’ features 14 self-penned songs that capture a range of emotions, from joy to heartbreak and everywhere in between. Inspired by a childhood listening to their parents’ Fleetwood Mac and Beatles records and more recently Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves, ‘Cartwheels’ is a stunning follow up to their debut album, 2014’s ‘From Where We Stand’ and is available to pre-order now on Amazon, iTunes and the Ward Thomas official store.
