Today sees the release of ‘Anything But Easy’, the great new single from Lisa Redford. We’ve been long time fans of Lisa here at Belles and Gals and it’s fantastic to see she is back with such a fantastic track. ‘Anything But Easy’ is a song about a relationship where the subject wonders why their partner doesn’t feel the same way now and is pulling away. ‘Whatever Made You Have a Change of Heart? Lisa Redford has a wonderful voice and writes songs that can melt your heart, and this comes together perfectly in this new single – a perfect slice of Americana/Country that you can enjoy as we begin to move into spring.

Out today, the song is the first glimpse of Lisa’s new upcoming EP “Edge of Love”. The EP is Produced by José McGill from award-winning group The Vagaband, the five self-written songs feature beautiful arrangements and instrumentation performed by a host of the finest musicians; pedal steel player Alan Cook (My Darling Clementine, Chris Hillman of The Byrds), Noel Dashwood of acclaimed folk trio Alden, Patterson and Dashwood and award-winning cellist Ivan McCready (The Pretenders, Blur, John Cale, George Michael).

About Lisa Redford

Lisa has earned acclaim for her heartfelt acoustic Americana and folk with memorable melodies and stunning vocals. Having been based in New York City as well as the UK, she has released three studio albums “Slipstream”, “Lost Again” and “Clouds with Silver” as well as EP’s ‘Reminders’ and ‘Another Place and Time’ that have received airplay across the world. Her song ‘Dragonfly’ was played on a Bob Harris Radio 2 ‘Best of British’ special’ which featured the best songwriters in the UK with Bob Harris describing her as “one of our finest singer/songwriters“.

She has performed with, and opened for, an array of international artists including Sarah Darling, Tom McRae, Glenn Tilbrook and Eliza Carthy, and played a number of prestigious festivals – including the Pop-Up stages at C2C Country to Country at London’s O2 arena two years running – and recorded sessions for Radio 2’s Bob Harris.
