Your Voice, Your Choice #47 – Molly-Anne

Today we continue with our popular “Your Voice, Your Choice” feature on Belles and Gals, the 47th edition of the feature! We introduce one of our favourite songs from a country artist and then the artist tells us in turn about a song that has inspired them and has a special place in their heart. Today we feature UK Country Artist Molly Anne.

It’s been a busy year already for Molly-Anne. At the start of 2018 the singer released her debut ‘Glow’ E.P. and followed it up with new single ‘Polperro’. ‘Glow’ made a big impact the first time I listened to it back in February (read the review here) but it sounds even better in May, perhaps due to me playing it so much. Therefore I was delighted to see the new ‘Polperro’ release from Molly-Anne, a song inspired by the rugged Cornish coastline. Molly-Anne has a wonderful voice and this is a song you can simply turn up loud, close your eyes and sink yourself into.

Molly-Anne has chosen ‘Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright’ by Bob Dylan

“Bob Dylan has always been a huge inspiration of mine. This song especially I feel is exceptionally well crafted. The melancholy lyrics speak of a bitterness and darker sense of life which, to me, seem most organic and a really honest poem from Dylan’s own heart. In this way I think Polperro could be caught in comparison; I feel that the best songs are raw and honest, something I hope to achieve in my own songwriting.”
