Melanie Meriney – Let It Snow

Belles and Gals feature writer, Melanie Meriney, released a new song to social media – ‘Let It Snow’, an original recording as a tribute to her grandpa. In her own words on Instagram –

“I’ve been really looking forward to releasing this song. It’s always been difficult for me to write a song for someone specific in my life, but this one was written in about 10 minutes and I hope it does justice to one of the best men I knew. Sadly, I lost him 4 years ago which is crazy because it doesn’t feel like that long ago. The morning he passed there was the most beautiful snowfall we’ve had in a long time. Happy Birthday, Grandpa. I love you ?❄️”

I’m sure you’ll agree that the song is just gorgeous and a fantastic tribute.

Lyrics:

You went out on a Sunday
Four in the morning in the middle of a perfect storm
Footprints leading up the stairway
Praying that you found some light to keep you warm

‘Cause the sky ain’t stopping, white coming down
Cold as I feel without you now
And I miss you like crazy, but if you’re checking in
You should know I still feel you all around
Let it snow

I hope it’s always easy to remember
The little things about you I swear I can’t forget
Sometimes I let myself whisper
Wondering if you’re gonna hear the words on my breath

‘Cause the sky ain’t stopping, white coming down
Cold as I feel without you now
And I miss you like crazy, but if you’re checking in
You should know I still feel you all around
Let it snow

Let it land on my fingertips, blow through my hair
Taste it on my lips, and know you’re everywhere

‘Cause the sky ain’t stopping, white coming down
Cold as I feel without you now
And I miss you like crazy, but if you’re checking in
You should know I still feel you all around
You should know that I know you’re looking down
Let it snow
