Morganway’s new Single ‘Hurricane’ – Out Now!

Right now, if you had to pick a name that represents one of the fastest rising acts on the UK country scene, Morganway might very well be the one you come up with. This is slightly unusual, as you wouldn’t exactly call the six piece band ‘country’. What they are is a fantastic mix of a number of influences and individual talents, which come together to create something incredibly special. If you’ve had the opportunity to see them live, you’ll know exactly what I mean – high energy, an infectious sound and an originality all of their own. It was little surprise to see Morganway go down so well at C2C, and there is absolutely no doubt that their fan base will grow exponentially in 2019.

Yesterday, Morganway, comprised of twin brothers Callum (vocals, guitar and bass) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar, backing vocals), alongside SJ Mortimer (vocals), Nicole Terry (fiddle), Matthew Brocklehurst (keys) and Ed Bullinger (drums), released their new single ‘Hurricane’. The song is their closer of the live set, and does a great job of leaving the crowd wanting more. The band are on fantastic form in this single, and those vocals from SJ are something to behold – check out the video above or the stream below to find out yourself! This is the second single release ahead of their upcoming album, and these early indications show we’re all in for something pretty special.

Callum Morgan:

It’s been with us pretty much since the beginning. We tend to end every show with it, and each time it’s a little different” The bulk of it was recorded live, with minimal overdubs. We also changed its key at the last minute, and suddenly there was a newfound urgency to the song that I think was always missing when we’d attempted to record it before. SJ did her lead vocals late at night, with all the main studio lights dimmed to create an almost eerie atmosphere, and she gave the most ferocious vocal take we’d heard from her.
