The Women of Country to Country (C2C) Festival – 2019

It’s quickly approaching the time of year where the British country music family descend upon London for the highlight of the country music calendar, Country to Country festival. Every year the number of artists grows and grows with a large number of females performing across the festivals many stages.

This year the festival sees Cam, Lady antebellum, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde leading the festival as female headliners across the three arena shows. Accompanying them on the spotlight stage within the arena is a brilliant mix of UK and US talented females with Runaway June, Abby Anderson, Catherine McGrath, Caroline Jones and the Wandering Hearts providing an eclectic mix of country to entertain the masses in-between the headline acts.

However, the arena show is just a small part of the festival with a huge number of other stages across the venue lending a place for many other great females to perform. With artists such as Raelynn and Lainey Wilson performing at the BBC Radio 2 stage, plus smaller homegrown country artists such as Megan O’Neill and Laura Oakes gracing the Icon stage, there is a perfect mix of artists for all to enjoy.

Alongside this years festival, Cineworld at the O2 will have an exclusive screening of the brand new film ‘Wild Rose’. Directed by Tom Harper, written by Nicole Taylor and starring Jessie Buckley and Julie Walters, the story follows Rose-Lynn Harlan, a Glaswegian ex-convict who is on a quest for country music fame and fortune whilst struggling to juggle the responsibility of young children. With a strong female lead, a story of perseverance and some great tracks, the film is sure to be a hit.
