SINGLE REVIEW: Ward Thomas – I Believe In You

This past Friday one of our favorite UK Country acts; Ward Thomas returned with their folk infused new single ‘I Believe In You’.

The new single was premiered by the twin sisters back last year during their sell-out UK tour in support of their sophomore, record making number 1 album ‘Cartwheels’.

It instantly connected with the audiences around the country and became an instant fan favourite. So it was no surprise to see it included on the ‘Restless Minds’ tracklist.

The new LP will be dropping on October 5th and is already shaping up to be one of the best records of the year.

So far we have officially heard ‘Lie Like Me’ which is a fantastic pop infused track that takes aim at society’s obsession with creating a perfect social media persona.

And now we have ‘I Believe In You . This is one of my all time favourite Ward Thomas songs and its lyrical message of believing in a loved one and their pursuit of their dream is sensational.

I have loved it since hearing it live in Cardiff last year for the first time and it seems the perfect and natural choice for the second single.

It has a stellar guitar solo riff to kick off the track before breaking off to become a massive folk infused, country hit.

The girls’ vocals are sublime and the overall musical style and direction of the track seems to fit them like a glove. Sonically it wouldn’t be out of place on a Shania Twain, or Taylor Swift LP.

RATING 5/5.
