Takeover Day – Lily Garland
Today is another takeover day on Belles and Gals and making the choice of the two songs is UK country star Lily Garland. Lily’s first choice is “Church Bells” by Carrie Underwood and here is what she says about the song:
“Carrie Underwood performing Church Bells at the 2016 awards. This is one of my favourite Carrie Underwood performances. It show cases not only her incredible vocals but shows what an amazing and engaging performer she is. Plus this is my favourite Carrie Underwood song to sing, I love the story telling and the powerful lyrics.”
Lily’s second choice is “Not Ready to Make Nice” by the Dixie Chicks. Here is what Lily says about this song:
“The official video for Not Ready to My Nice by The Dixie Chicks. The Dixie Chicks are who got me into country many, many years ago when I saw them live in Austin, Texas. I love how bold they are and unafraid to stand up for what they believe. I really connect to this particular song, the lyrics and the overall message could have come from my song writing. It is a very powerful track that I enjoy belting out in the car!”
Lily’s new EP ‘The Next Chapter’ is out next Friday and next Saturday the 17th June, there is a gig at Parr Street in Liverpool (a great venue where we hosted our first ever live show) where Lily will be joined by Narn and Angels with Dirty Faces.
