Courtney Marie Andrews – Put the Fire Out

Today sees the release of “Put the Fire Out” by Courtney Marie Andrews, ahead of her upcoming album “Honest Life” which will be available throughout Europe in January of next year. This song is simply brilliant and if this is a taste of the album, we’ve all got a lot to look forward to in the new year. Here is what Courtney said about the song;

“‘Put The Fire Out’ is a song about letting go, and letting yourself take a break. When writing these songs, I had been on the road for a couple of years without much downtime. I felt my place really was at home and I had a deep longing to be near people that knew me.”

Comparisons have been made between Courtney and such artists as Emmylou Harris, Neko Case and PJ Harvey, while I would also add Ryan Adams into that mix, who has said about Courtney, “what a phenomenal songwriter”.
