Elie Rees – I Dream of You

Last night I headed to my first ever ‘Open mic’ night, organised by featured artist today, Elie Rees. I’d seen Elie appear before and I was looking forward to seeing her appear again – and luckily enough she was first up. I really enjoy watching Elie, her songwriting has a real unique air, powerful with great lyrics. The Essex based singer songwriter has an album on the way very soon and I can’t wait to hear it – she’ll also be recording an exclusive for us at Belles and Gals (a song I was really taken with).

Although you wouldn’t say Elie is a country artist she certainly covers that base – describing herself as ‘creative, edgy and raw’ and ‘Blondie meets Fiona Apple’, which is one of the best descriptions I’ve ever read!
