Fresh from the release of their hugely successful top-ten all genre third studio album ‘Restless Minds’, Ward Thomas have received the prestigious CMA Jeff Walker Global Artist Award.
This award recognizes outstanding achievements by a Country Music artist originally signed outside of the United States.
This huge honour makes the Hampshire native duo only the second ever UK act to be given the award following in the footsteps of fellow Brit Country frontrunners; The Shires who picked up the award back in 2017 making them the first ever British act to do so.
Catherine and Lizzy were given their CMA Jeff Walker Global Artist award by US Country Music superstar Cam. Cam is an artist who is a huge fan of the girls’ music and even joined them last year for their Doormat Sessions via Instagram for a stunning performance of her worldwide smash-hit ‘Diane’.
Ward Thomas were surprise guests at the Songwriters Session at the O2 Arena in London this evening which acts as a curtain raiser to the C2C Festival whick kicks off tomorrow and runs for the whole weekend and it was here that they were awarded this accolode.
The duo also gave a spontaneous performance capping off an absolutely incredible evening for the pair.
Winning the CMA Jeff Walker Global Artist award comes on the back of Ward Thomas wrapping the first leg of their massive Restless Minds UK tour and European and Australian tour support slot announcements for Jack Savoretti and David Gray this April and May.
2019 has only just began and Ward Thomas are already having a wonderfully exciting and successful year as they look to bring their stunning harmony driven blend of homegrown Country-Pop to an even wider worldwide audience.
I asked one of my amazing friends to record this for me! 🎥 @a_webb96
