Jess Thristan Releases Sparkling ‘Silver Bells’ EP

Jess Thristan released a brand new EP today. ‘Silver Bells’ features 4 seasonal covers that are sure to
get you feeling all warm and festive!
The Yorkshire-based singer-songwriter gifted us with her take on Christmas classics, including twists
on ‘Winter Wonderland’ and title track ‘Silver Bells’.
There’s a lot of character within these tracks, the chilled-out instrumental creates a sense of warmth
and is very atmospheric. You’ll want to cosy yourself with blankets by the fire listening to the smooth
acoustics.
My personal favourite is Auld Lang Syne, which is traditionally heard belted at thousands of pubs all
around the country, just past midnight on New Year’s Day. Jess takes a totally different approach to
this song, with her softer vocals making the song a lot more nostalgic and reminiscent of the year
before.
The EP closes cleverly with ‘What the World Needs Now’, originally sung by Jackie DeShannon. With
what can only be described as political chaos happening right now in the UK, the lyrics “what the
world needs now is love, sweet love // It’s the only thing there’s just too little of” are extremely
relevant right now. Jess does this famous track justice and will prove popular with a lot of listeners.
I know I’ll have this on repeat over the festive season, the EP is gorgeous and I definitely recommend
giving it a listen!
Silver Bells is available on multiple streaming platforms, you can find this and more music on her
