At Belles and Gals we always await the announcement of the headliners at the C2C festival with great anticipation – obviously in hope of a fantastic array of female talent appearing at the top of the line up. Therefore, there was an initial feeling of slight disappointment in Belles and Gals Towers on Monday night after the announcement. Yes, there is Lady Antebellum, Cam, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde on the line up, but it’s clear that the male artists are leading the way in 2019.
However, there is little doubt that of all the festivals in country music, C2C are one of the few who do make a tremendous effort in making sure that the male/female split is an even one. Last year, there were female artists in all three headline acts and in the mix of the pop ups and various other stages that make up the festival, there is always a huge female contingent.
Our verdict? – A fantastic line up that will be enjoyed by all, which will almost certainly draw record crowds to the O2 in March.
Without wanting to ignore the likes of Keith Urban (who can ignore Keith Urban?), we will obviously be focusing on the female artists on the line up – so here is a video from each of the four female/female led acts appearing on the stage at the O2 – we genuinely cannot wait to hear these songs in March!
