Fans of the record making UK country-pop music duo Ward Thomas have been counting down the days until October 5th for the release of their eagerly anticipated third studio album ‘Restless Minds’ but they will now have an extended wait as the duo along with their record label Sony Music have decided to push back the release of the LP until February 1st, 2019.
The announcement was made by the twin sisters earlier today (September 6th) via an email newsletter to fans. But it is not all bad news for supporters desperate for new music from Ward Thomas as they also confirmed that a tour announcement is imminent. It seems like this decision has been made to better tie in with the upcoming 2019 tour. It is now likely that an official announcement will be made next month and then that will lead up nicely to the new drop date of ‘Restless Minds’.
Speaking directly to fans about the decision to push back the release of their new record, Ward Thomas said: “We wanted to email you personally though because our management and record label Sony Music have asked to push the release date of the album back to 1st February 2019 and after a lot of thought and a lot of agonising, we have agreed.
We are very conscious that this may be frustrating and a disappointment to you, but after spending months pouring our life experiences into writing the songs, putting blood, sweat and tears into the recordings and working late into the night doing and re-doing vocals, we have finally got to a stage in our creative process where we feel completely happy. Our team have mirrored our excitement and we all feel that we want to release the album at the right time to ensure it gets every possible chance.
There will be lots of things to hear from Restless Minds between now and 1st February as a taster of what to expect on the album, and we have lots of exciting plans for 2019 which we will be announcing soon, including a tour to follow the album release. We are so sorry to delay the release but we hope that you can bear with us and we really hope you’ll agree that it is worth the wait.
This new LP promises to be the most raw and honest materiel from Catherine and Lizzy and focuses on themes such as mental health, women’s rights, and social media. These are evident in the two official singles off the album so far; ‘Lie Like Me’ and ‘I Believe In You’. This is an album from a twentysomething’s point of view and will no doubt strike a chord with the Millennial generation.
