One fantastic feature of songwriters rounds in Nashville seems to be that upcoming artists are given a chance to play a few songs before the more established ones “ do their thing” .
This is how I came across Brittany McLamb on my recent visit, and she really made an impression on me with her confident performance and impressive vocals.
There’s an interview with this rising star to come, but as a taster I wanted you to be aware of her recently released single, “Lose It” which sounded absolutely fantastic live. Here she is performing the song earlier this year on the “ Today In Nashville” television show.
Brittany told me a bit more about the song ………
“I wrote “Lose It” with my good pals Andrew Beason and Jonathan Dean. I had the title “Lose It” stuck in my head for a while and I knew I wanted the song to be about not losing a feeling you have with someone, but I didn’t know exactly where to take the song. So, I brought it up to my co-writers Jonathan and Andrew and they were awesome in helping to bring the song to life. A lot of the time when we meet someone and feel chemistry with them or are interested in getting to know them better, we tend to get shy or are too scared to act on our feelings and therefore the opportunity passes. So, we approached the song from the viewpoint of making sure not to let that moment pass and to make the most of it in order to see where it might go. I think most anyone that’s had a crush or been a secret admirer can relate to these lyrics.
I am super excited to be working on a music video for this single with my friend and director Wiley Chandler! We plan to shoot the video in the coming weeks and it will be ready for you to view very soon! Stay tuned to my social media for updates! “
You can download the single at all the usual places, and I’m looking forwards to finding out more about Brittany in the next few weeks.
