Your Voice, Your Choice #41 – 2 Steel Girls

Today we continue with our popular “Your Voice, Your Choice” feature on Belles and Gals, the 41st edition of the feature! We introduce one of our favourite songs from a country artist and then the artist tells us in turn about a song that has inspired them and has a special place in their heart. Today we feature US country duo 2 Steel Girls.

We featured this ‘In My head’ from 2 Steel Girls as our ‘song of the day’ just a couple of weeks ago. This week we asked Allison and Krystal, the mother/daughter combination who hit the headlines when appearing on ‘The Voice’, to tell us all about the song.

“In My Head” puts into words what it seems can’t be said out loud most times. Sometimes heartbreak is so strong that though you search, the words cannot be found.  I really believe that most of us know that feeling.  To fall for someone who doesn’t reciprocate our feelings can be shocking.  The words of this song, though filled with heartbreak are freeing.  We released the song first off, because we love it, it’s one of our favorite songs.  And secondly, the guitar solo freakin’ rocks!

2 Steel Girls have chosen ‘The Champion’ by Carrie Underwood ft. Ludacris as their choice.

“Our favorite song is always changing. Right now our favorite song is, “The Champion” by Carrie Underwood featuring, Ludacris. We want to speak to you from our “Independent Artists” heart. We were just watching Carrie’s new video and all of the folks fighting, giving all they have to do something extraordinary, something bigger than themselves. Our thoughts…To those of you who are chasing your dreams, remember…Some days you will feel like a champion, but most days, you doubt, you don’t know if you can do it, you don’t know if you’ll make it. You believe, but you constantly fight unbelief. Fighting for our dreams in the music industry is no different…We love what we do, we love our fans. Chasing a dream in the music industry is not for the faint of heart. You give everything and try to be exceptional on all levels. It takes stamina, persistence, passion and strength. Fighting feelings of rejection are real when chasing any dream. We won’t give up on our dreams….And we sure hope those of you reading this will keep going, keep believing in yourself and keep moving forward. Some will tell you that your dream is impossible. Etch this in your heart, “The one thing that makes a dream impossible is the fear of failure. And the only way to fail is to quit.” The words of Carrie’s song says, “I am invincible, unbreakable, unstoppable, unshakeable…..I was made for this. I was born to win. I am the champion.” And we’re singing along extra loud. LOL! And we hope you do too.”
