EP REVIEW: Callaghan’s ‘Skin On Skin’ – by Laura Klonowski

Country music sensation Callaghan is gearing up for the release of her brand new EP ttitled ‘Skin On Skin’. The five track record will be released on March 2nd ahead of the star’s UK April tour.

The new EP from Callaghan opens with the whistly tune ‘Better Together’. This song has an easy, breezy vibe that showcases the singer’s sweet vocals. It has catchy lyrics and a toe-tapping production. It’s a fantastic way to kick-off the record and the horn section is brilliant.
At number 2 is the title track ‘Skin On Skin’. This song has a more haunting vibe compared to the opening song and Callaghan’s vocals are totally stripped back. It’s a spine-tingling number and a real standout on the EP.
Up next is ‘Broken’. This piano heavy track is simply gorgeous. The country star’s voice elevates the simple production to a whole new level and it will be a real standout on the tour in April. The soaring vocals of Callaghan are sublime.
The penultimate song on the EP is ‘All Through The Night’ (prelude) which is a simple instrumental number that acts as an interlude to the track that closes the record.
It’s beautiful way to lead into ‘All Through The Night’ which is my personal favourite song on the EP. Callaghan’s voice is simply stunning and the orchestral production is  breathtaking.
RATING: 4/5
