Ingrid Mae – Did You Miss Me?

Today’s song of the day is ‘Did You Miss Me’ by Ingrid Mae.

In a very first for Belles and Gals, we’re delighted to introduce an Australian artist! Being just a couple of days shy of our second birthday, it seems somewhat fitting that we’ve now featured an artist from the opposite side of the planet (apologies if you don’t understand that to any flat-earthers reading).

So, who is Ingrid Mae? Ingrid is a highly talented Australian ‘country gal’ who is on the verge of releasing her second album in late March/early April (her excellent debut album ‘Sugarcoated’ was released back in 2016). The singer has a very exciting couple of months ahead as she’ll be playing with Australian country icons, Lee Kernaghan and James Blundell at the Sydney Country Rocks Music Festival on the 3rd March.

Ingrid has been inspired by the women and men who pioneered rock and country music, her songs pack a punch whether it’s an angry anthem or a beautiful ballad. Inspired by artists such as Brookes and Dunn and Lady Antebellum, Ingrid’s vocals have been compared to the likes of Melissa Etheridge and Jennifer Nettles.

Having watched the video above, I’m sure you’ll agree that Ingrid Mae is certainly one to watch – her vocals are fantastic and it’s clear she has songwriting ability to match. Check out Ingrid’s YouTube channel too (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcEPzdww3mfDpDbDmE9Ir8g) – there’s a fantastic introductory video, which will show you just how much of a character the Australian singer is too. I’m a fan already!
