In honour of this year’s Record Store Day, Brandy Clark released a live album recorded at Los Angeles’ Hotel Cafe on September 12, 2016.  Available only on vinyl and from record stores Stateside, I was fortunate enough to obtain a copy thanks to the generosity and kindness of a wonderful friend across the pond and can vouch for the fact that is makes truly superb listening.  Featuring just Brandy and her fabulous lead guitar player Miles Aubrey (who also provides backing vocals) it really is like having them play an acoustic concert in the comfort of your own living room!  As well as the eleven tracks (one previously unrecorded) there’s also all the chat in between (often very amusing, as you’d expect if you know Brandy!) and the sound quality is superb.

Well, good news for anyone wanting to get their ears around this gem…..it will be made more widely available very soon ( sometime in August , exact date tbc) when it will be released in digital form, so you’ll be able to download it and enjoy it for yourself if you haven’t been able to get it on vinyl! Brandy revealed the news herself at her concert in Chehalis this week, where she played to a capacity crowd many of whom were certainly friends and family as the venue was  only 40 miles from her hometown of Morton, Washington which inspired many of the tracks from her last album, Grammy nominated “Big Day in a Small Town”.
Any update on the exact release day will be brought to you as soon as we have the information, but in the mean time to whet your appetite here’s the track listing….and don’t forget Brandy will be undertaking an extensive UK tour this Oct, detail can be found at brandyclarkmusic.com
