Reba McEntire – Fancy

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Country 2 Country launch in London. I have to admit to having mixed feelings about the line-up, especially considering that on the night there was no female headliner (and running a site devoted to female country artists, this was a big no-no!!). It then came to light that the 3rd headliner would be announced within a week or so, so I wandered around in a daze saying ‘female, female, female, female’ over and over again (was arrested twice and gained real life experience of being Donald Trump for a day or two…).

In all seriousness, I was genuinely hoping that the third headliner was indeed a female artist and it came to pass that it was Reba! It would have been a glorious surprise if the announcement was kept hidden, but it was probably the worst kept secret in the history of country music, as every single person I knew in country music already knew and I would have one of those “I know, do you know?’ conversations – ‘does her name start with R’, “does her name rhyme with Sheba?”

But gloriously, momentously and fantastically Reba is coming over in March and here at Belles and Gals we can’t wait!!
